Description: Dr. John McCormack, Assistant Professor, Occidental College, visiting the BFS. John has just recently joined the Biology faculty at Occidental College. He spoke on Friday, October 7, 2011, at a Pomona College Biology seminar about the applications of next-generation sequencing to phylogeography and speciation. He oversees the bird collection at the Moore Lab, which contains one of the world's foremost collections of Mexican birds, including Elegant quail!
