Abstract:
Lecanora gyrophorica and L. munzii, two new species containing gyrophoric acid, are described from North America. In the genus Lecanora, gyrophoric acid has previously been reported only in L. salina, a species that occurs on siliceous coastal rocks in Europe and in eastern North America in Maine (U.S.A.) and Canada.
